NGS Amwell Lane Visit
The first of many planned visits to the wonderful National Garden Scheme open gardens this year. It is a fabulous chance to have a nose and get ideas from some fabulous local gardens and hopefully some further afield if we get a chance for a holiday this year.
This beautiful period cottage on the edge of the village of Wheathampsted was a pleasure to visit. A naturalistic planting style with a lovely daffodil lined path leading down to the orchard, various outhouses and a greenhouse to explore, cold frames and a veg patch, formal lawns and homemade apple juice, 2 ponds, formal lawns and a woodland walk – plenty to see!
I just wish I’d taken a shot of very delicious Massala Chai carrot cake I washed down with the equally scrumptious, home-produced apple juice. The funds raised by the refreshments were being generously donated to https://www.hopeandhomes.org/
